NEW YORK CITY

Yesterday, the band took a day trip to the wonderful New York City. We rode a coach bus and had to get up extra early. Surprisingly enough, we actually all made it on time to the station. When we boarded, I was surprised for some reason to find that there were a lot more people on the bus than the previous time. You see, a while ago, I believe early last year, I took the same trip with a few bandmates, as we were headed to the Big Apple to meet with a really, really small label head. It was winter time and they were calling for snow. Luckily, for my excitement, they went ahead with the trip, but there were only around 7 people or so with us. Basically, we never made it to New York City because of the snow, and ended up having to turn around in New Jersey.

So...it's 2:23 according to my computer and I have finally uploaded all of the pictures I took in New York City yesterday. Below you will find photos I took throughout the day, in order. I left out a few, but there are still a lot. What can I say...I love photography.

We arrived in New York City and walked into Times Square

There were people

First, we went inside the Toys 'R Us in Times Square.
It had a really cool light wall

T-Rex is alive and well in Toys 'R Us

Dan and Keith discovered Toys 'R Us had a wrestling section.
Here they went looking for gold...

Then, they found the gold...

Boy, was Keith excited

They also had a really cool display of superheroes and mutants...made out of legos

Dan loves Jurrasic Park

Then we were pretty hungry...but before that we stopped in the Virgin Megastore. I picked up Dirty Pretty Things's "Waterloo to Anywhere" and (The) Kinks's "The Ultimate Collection" (44 songs on 2 CDs for $10...oh yeah). It has to be my favorite store ever. 3 floors. Loud music. $10 brand new CDs. T-shirts. You can even design your own shirt with their graphics. Brett tried to get his 72 on a black shirt...too bad they didn't have a 2. But, hey, he was getting an Orange.

Keith said he was "on Broadway."

After lunch, we headed to a street with a bunch of music shops (on the way, I am 95% sure I saw Natalie Portman). First stop...Rudy's Music. Here, Brett would see a nice little display of Orange amplifiers...little ones, but nevertheless ORANGES!!! He decided he would get the biggest of the smallest. Brett was really loving his life then.

There were three levels: Guitars on the 1st floor, acoustic on the 2nd, and bass on the 3rd. Keith knew the way...

Hangin' out

Then, after walking down 5th Avenue for a bit and seeing Sway from MTV, we stopped at Rockafeller Plaza on our way to Urban Outfitters. Dan lost his keys here.

After spending time in Urban Outfitters, we realized we were running out of time before we had to make it back to the bus. So, we didn't get to head to Central Park.

On the way back to the bus, we stopped at a sunglasses street vendor. He suggested Keith get headshots taken so that he could get a career off the ground and make some money by selling himself as an Ashton Kutcher look-alike. We didn't buy any sunglasses. Dan bought a pair at Urban Outfitters.

There were some empty nitrogen containers sitting, unattended on the sidewalk

Before we headed back to the bus, we swung by Rudy's so that Brett could buy and pick up his Orange. Keith gave him a thumbs up...

On the trip back to Maryland, they showed the movie "Shaggy Dog." I didn't know what to make of it. I felt embarassed for Tim Allen, though.

What a day. I'm sure there's more. I might add more later. I had to get this done. It's 3:34AM and I have to be up in a few hours for our show.

Peace and love,
Quinn
